THE BEGINNING

Want to know how we became your favorite Dayton Bakery? Our story started back in 2008 with my youngest son’s birthday cake. My husband forgot to order from our favorite Dayton Bakery and we were in dire straights. So, armed withYouTube and a block of fondant – the first soon-to-be Cake, Hope, & Love cake was born. From there, I got another order and then another….

In the beginning of 2009 the name was born and we were taking lots of orders. Our house had turned into a cupcake and cake factory. Every flat surface became a holding place for cakes and cupcakes. I needed reinforcements and more space.

THE SHOP

In January of 2011, Connie came on as the newest Cake Lady. There were now two of us. We quickly decided we needed a store front and started looking. We signed on our location in March and opened in May. Since then, we’ve cranked out thousands of cupcakes and countless custom cakes each month. We’ve been overwhelmed with the kindness of our customers.

NOW AND THE FUTURE

We want to make sure we’re not just like any other Dayton Bakery, cupcake, or cake shop. We want to be more. We want to take what we have and make a difference. We, as a company, have committed to give back to our city and community. And, our customers are right there behind us. This amazing group of customers has evolved in to what we all now know as Cake Nation. Our motto is to change the world one cupcake at a time. We’re doing that through countless donations, free product, auctions, and monthly campaigns for local charities.

So, to sum up CH&L, I’d say we’re huge social media geeks who love philanthropy and aim to take over the world with buttercream. Yeah, that’s about right.  Stop by so we can become your favorite Dayton Bakery.
